release contains many different additions/deletions/updates and features the Qt4.6 library. It also contains package updates required for software designed for the next Maemo product software update coming out soon.
The Maemo 5 Final SDK has its fifth update, which is an early access to the fourth product software update, being version 10.2010.09-3.
Existing Update 3 or later SDK installations can be upgraded easily using the apt package management tool found inside scratchbox. The suggested way to upgrade is first running: "fakeroot apt-get update" and then "fakeroot apt-get dist-upgrade"
This SDK release is an early access to the fifth update and it contains known bugs which will be fixed in the final update 5 release.
So if you are interesting in just, check the Maemo development landing page in Forum Nokia for the SDK download, the release notes and other technical details. After all it will cost you nothing so it is highly suggestible to get and run the latest Maemo OS version and test some applications and games under PC emulation.
Also don’t forget the Maemo 5 UI Guidelines published recently, specially the Hildon 2.2 UI Style Guide, the Maemo 5 Desktop Widget UI Guidelines and the document about Redesigning from Maemo 4 to Maemo 5.
You can check the maemo.org Development section for an exhaustive list of Maemo 5 developer resources including the community supported runtimes.
