About this independent reference
The Maemo Record is an independent reference to Maemo, the Nokia devices that ran it, and the lineage that carried on into Sailfish OS. It is written by nobody connected to any of them.
What this site is
It is a reference, not a news site. Between 2009 and 2015 this address carried a community blog that reported Maemo news as it happened. That format expired with the news: a firmware announcement from 2010 has no reader today. The platform it was announcing does, so the facts from those posts now sit on the pages for the things they were about, and the old article addresses point at those pages.
What it is not
It is not Nokia, not Jolla, not maemo.org, and not a continuation of the earlier blog. It uses none of that blog’s name, branding or writing, and claims no connection to its authors. Product and company names belong to their owners.
What it will not carry
No firmware images, no ROMs and no repackaged applications, and no links to them: the record of what existed is a public fact, the binaries are not ours to distribute. No prices and no second-hand listings either, because a stale price is worse than none.
Corrections
Everything here is checkable against public sources, and dates and specifications are given exactly where they are known and left out where they are not. If something is wrong, it should be corrected rather than argued about.
